“Don’t depend too much on anyone in this world because even your own shadow leaves you when you are in darkness.” Quoted by Ibn Taymiyyah. And frankly I wholeheartedly, disagree with his analogy.
Your shadow is the only thing that never leaves whether you are in darkness or light, for it is connected to you alone. When in light, of course it easily shows, when in dimming light it dances for you and when in complete darkness it is within you and then you become the light that radiates.
We are all an orchestrated balance between darkness and light throughout our entire existence. Sometimes our flame glows eminently bright and at other times it softens like an ember yet still burning until we go out then rising from the ashes reborn again.
A better comparison would and could be many things except what he said.
Examples: “Don’t depend too much on anyone in this world because…
– Eventually every pencil breaks or runs out when your just trying to write your life’s novel down leaving you with the memories you need so desperately to get out.
– Every light bulb goes out when you needed it most leaving you in the darkness you already found within yourself.
And I am sure that many of you could think of your own too! Just stop and think about what you accept as Truth… You have to remember though, if it’s a part of what you need to infinitely be then it’s always connected to you.
